Shyam’s first steps on the yoga journey began not on the mat, but through the study of a Vedic classic known as the Bhagavad-gita; a manual for life. The teachings of Bhagavad-gita naturally lead her to the physical practise of yoga, which for her was the Ashtanga vinyasa tradition. She later completed her teacher training in Power, Kundalini, Restorative and Yin Yoga in 2005. Using her Ashtanga roots, Shyam has since taught vinyasa flow classes of all levels, all offered in an accessible and playful way intertwined with occasional tales from Africa and India. She’s a self-professed Yin addict too.
